EGF, is a growth factor that is produced mainly in platelets, macrophages and fibroblasts. EGF controls fundamental biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation and survival. Its mitogenic effect includes stimulation of hair growth and human skin fibroblast proliferation. Recombinant EGF human consists of 53 amino acids, 5.83 kDa. Core EGF is qualified for different applications including industrial gastrointestinal treatment, wound healing or cell culture.

EGF is produced in plant seeds of Camelina sativa bred in our laboratories in Strasbourg, France.

The biological activity of human recombinant EGF protein was determined by its ability to promote the proliferation of 3T3 cells cultured in adherent condition. Cell proliferation was measured using non-radioactive colorimetric assay and monitored by absorbance. ED50 < 0.1 ng/ml.
Low endotoxin level ≤ 0.005ng/µg (≤ 0.005EU/ug of protein) as determined by Limulus Amebocyte Lysate assay.

It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile water to at least a concentration between 0.05-1.0 mg/ml. For dilutions, aliquoting and addition of carrier protein please refer to product’s data sheet or get in touch with our technical support team.
Lyophilised protein is stable at room temperature upon arrival. Once it is reconstituted can be stored at -20ºC or -80ºC for up to 1 year.
